This seems like a pretty sick company for building your own projector and they have some section for 3d virtual reality which looked promising but is merely coming soon.

hey,
making your own projector sounds cool. Might be a good idea to make a few if possible, it would make a good learning experience and help us get more for cheaper.
We could even make a lab out of it and have other New Media students come and help/learn if they are interested
